WAPL Adds Laura Lee To Mornings With Cutter
• Woodward Community Media Classic Rock 105.7 WAPL/Appleton-Oshkosh-Green Bay announces the hire of Laura Lee as morning show co-host, joining existing host Cutter to form… hang onto something… Mornings with Laura Lee & Cutter, which debuts Sept. 23. Lee succeeds Rick McNeal, who retired earlier this year after four decades of service, due to health reasons.
Lee arrives from Columbus, OH, where she most recently programmed the late WWCD (CD 102.5) from July 2020 until its demise earlier this year. Previous programming stops include Sunrise Broadcasting’s WRMR (Modern Rock 98.7)/Wilmington, NC and LM Communications’ Triple A WCOO (105.5 The Bridge)/Charleston, SC. Lee earlier worked for Adams Radio Group in Salisbury-Ocean City, MD as Promotions Director for the cluster and PD/midday personality for Classic Rock WGBG (Big 98.5). Lee began her radio career in 2000 with Entercom Sacramento.
“I’m excited to have someone join me who can help propel this legendary radio station into the future,” said Cutter. “Laura embodies the spirit of WAPL; she knows the music and understands our listeners. Plus, she’s willing to put up with me, which is a great start!”
Lee remarked, “I’m glad I never got rid of my 32oz truckers mega-mug for coffee last time I did mornings. I haven’t had to wake up this early in a long time but I’m incredibly pumped to be joining the famed WAPL and looking forward to teaming up with Cutter for a new era of WAPL mornings. He knows the market, the audience loves him and he’s a pretty pleasant individual even at 5am in the morning.”
Brand Manager Joe Marroe noted, “Laura truly lives the WAPL lifestyle. She’s passionate about concerts, hockey, and football — though we’re hoping to convert her allegiance from the Vikings! With the innovative ideas Laura and Cutter are bringing to the table, I can’t wait to see what unfolds on the air.”
