WIXX Mornings: The Next Generation
• On Monday we promised you a quote-laden announcement regarding the new morning show at Midwest Communications Top 40 101.1 WIXX/Green Bay, and the station came through with the formal announcement of the Wednesday launch of Huggie, Natalie & Corey.
Now, let’s meet the players — Dan “Huggie” Amsden, who moves up to mornings from his No. 1-rated afternoon show. Prior to joining WIXX in May 2022, Huggie did afternoons on Hubbard Top 40 KQMV (MOViN 92.5)/Seattle, preceded by six years at Alpha Media Top 40 KBFF (LIVE 95.5)/Portland, OR. His previous stops include KSAS/Boise, ID and KVEG/Las Vegas. “Mornings has been my goal since I was 10 years old,” Huggie remarked. “If not now, when? This is the perfect time to jump on it and love the team we’ve assembled.”
Huggie’s new co-host is Natalie Kay, a Wisconsin native who spent the past decade with Saga Active Rock WHQG (102.9 The Hog)/Milwaukee in various roles, including solo host and afternoon co-host. “I am beyond thrilled to embark on this exciting journey with the legendary WIXX!” Kay exclaimed. “Joining the new morning show is not just a career milestone — it’s an opportunity to connect with the vibrant community, share laughs, and bring a fresh wave of entertainment to your mornings. Get ready for a lot of fun as we make each day brighter together!”
Rounding out this newly minted wake-up team is Brand Manager Corey Carter, a 13-year WIXX veteran, who said of Kay, “Natalie is a star — we knew it from the moment we met her. She’s bold, kind, bubbly, smart and not afraid to ‘dish it out.’ We’re confident her outgoing, friendly attitude will quickly make her a favorite of WIXX listeners.” [Photo credit: Corey Carter]
