‘#iHeartLAPRIDE Party’ This Friday
• iHeartMedia Los Angeles has launched #iHeartLAPRIDE, a campaign commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the first Pride parade in LA. The campaign features a series of vignettes airing on 102.7 KIIS-FM, KYSR (ALT 98.7), KRRL (Real 92.3), KBIG (104.3 MYFM) and KOST 103.5/Los Angeles. Personality, artist and celebrity-voiced Pride messages and videos will also air across the stations’ social platforms; and a virtual LGBTQ+ celebration aimed at lifting the spirit of Pride that lives within us every day in the wake of COVID 19 and the cancellation of all outdoor, in person Los Angeles area Pride events.
L.A.’s first Pride parade happened on June 28, 1970 as a response to and in commemoration of the Stonewall uprising, which was led by activists and trans women of color Marsha P. Johnson and Sylvia Rivera on Christopher Street in New York City the year prior. “In commemorating this occasion and honoring the LGBTQ+ community in Los Angeles, we are reminded that real change only comes when people stand up for what is right,” said Kevin LeGrett, Regional President for iHeartMedia Los Angeles. “We are proud to stand together with all communities battling intolerance and racial injustice.”
The virtual celebration, “The #iHeartLAPRIDE Haus Party,” will stream live this Friday, June 26 at 7pm PT on iHeartRadio’s PRIDE Radio, hosted by iHeartMedia L.A. personalities Lisa Foxx, Hudson, Sisanie, J Cruzand DJ Lezlee; and featuring performances from Grouplove, Absofacto, Ashe and Tiffany, along with original Pride celebration DJ sets from Christie James, Rezz, Scotty Fox, Grabbitz and DJ Lezlee; and Pride shout outs from Kesha, Dua Lipa, Bebe Rexha, Lance Bass, Adam Lambert, Meghan Trainor, Tyler Glenn from Neon Trees and others.
