The Sound Presents 2/5 Of Fleetwood Mac
It was a beautifully balmy Southern California evening on Wednesday as a sold-out crowd thoroughly enjoyed “Lindsey Buckingham & Christine McVie Live at the Greek for The Sound Family Reunion™” (negotiated title) at the famous Greek Theatre in L.A.’s Griffith Park. On hand to celebrate was pretty much the entire airstaff of Entercom Classic Rock KSWD (100.3 The Sound)/Los Angeles. According to on-the-scene eyewitness reports (OK, it was a text from notoriously unreliable Sound PD Dave Beasing), the pre-show autograph lines to meet and/hug The Sound DJs’ wound outside from the theater, down through the bird sanctuary, stretched up past the rest rooms overrun by poison oak, and all the way over to the James Dean bust outside the nearby Griffith Observatory (highly doubtful).
Uncle Joe Benson introduced his on-air colleagues to earsplitting cheers (possibly another exaggeration). Minutes later, we are told there was a huge audience reaction to Buckingham McVie’s rendition of Fleetwood Mac’s classic “Tusk,” caused Lindsey Buckingham to momentarily crack a smile (that one was absolutely true). Afterwards, everyone even remotely connected to The Sound huddled backstage for this collector’s-edition RAMP souvenir photo.
