WXBM Names Kash PD, Fisher APD
• Big day around the campus of Cumulus Country WXBM (NASH FM 102.7)/Pensacola, FL, as Adam “Kash” Kashner is named Program Director, while afternoon talent Matt Fisher is upped to APD. Kashner (left) succeeds Nick Fox, who in November relocated to Denver as the newly named Country PD for Westwood One’s 24/7 Formats. Kashner earns the transfer to Cumulus Pensacola from Cumulus Indianapolis, where he was most recently APD/MD of Country sister WFMS. Fisher (right) joined WXBM in July 2018 after a long run programming a three-station cluster in Storm Lake, IA.
Gary Mertins, VP/Market Manager of Cumulus Pensacola, said of Kashner, “Kash is such an up-and- coming programming talent within Cumulus and we’re so proud to have him join us in Pensacola. He’s really done some great things and proven himself in Indianapolis. WXBM is a heritage Country station and we know that we’ve found the right person in Kash to lead it to further greatness.” Commenting on Fisher’s promotion, Mertins noted, “Matt has been a skilled air talent and valued resource for us and we’re proud to appoint him as APD for WXBM.”
Glenn Johnson, Programming Ops Manager of Cumulus Pensacola, said, “Kash brings the knowledge and passion that he poured into WFMS and will no doubt take Pensacola’s heritage Country station WXBM to a new level. I’m beyond excited to have him on board for 2020. And having Matt Fisher officially take the role of APD with his creativity and experience completes a solid team to lead WXBM in 2020.”
Kashner commented, “While I will miss my hometown of Indy, I couldn’t be more excited to take on this newest challenge and opportunity in Pensacola. A big THANK YOU to Gary Mertins and Glenn Johnson for already making me feel so welcome at WXBM, and also to Boomer, Doug Hamand and Charlie Cook for all the support at WFMS. Here’s to a fun and successful 2020!” Fisher added, “Pensacola is a unique market and I’m excited to have fit in so well. I want to thank Gary Mertins and Glenn Johnson for the opportunity to work closely with Kash on achieving his vision for WXBM.”
