Albany Is Now ‘Big Country’… Um … Country
• Pamal’s Albany Broadcasting was a tad busy in its hometown on Monday as it flipped 104.9 WINU from Alternative ALT 104.9 to Classic Country as “Big Country 104.9 & 97.9,” a simulcast with sister WMML-1230 AM/97.9 FM/Glens Falls, NY.
Pamal COO Chuck Benfer stated, “This strategic move aims to cater to the growing demand for Classic Country music in our community, providing an unparalleled listening experience for country music enthusiasts.”
In addition to a playlist of Country legends like Garth Brooks, Alan Jackson, Kenny Chesney, Trisha Yearwood, and many more, Big Country also showcases a talent lineup of Capital District Country radio veterans Kevin Richards in mornings, Jake Thomas in middays and Sean McMaster in afternoon drive.
“We are incredibly excited to introduce Big Country to our loyal listeners,” said Kevin Callahan, Corporate Director of Programming and Operations. “Classic Country music has a timeless appeal that resonates with people of all ages. With Big Country, we aim to create a nostalgic and authentic experience, celebrating the legends of the genre while introducing new generations to the magic of Classic Country.”
