Alpha Media Brings Owens Home To Portland

• Alpha Media Portland announced the return of hometown favorite Geoff Owens in the dual programming role of A) Content Director (PD) of Hip Hop WE 102.9 (KINK-HD2) and B) Asst. Content Director/MD for Top 40 KBFF (Live 95.5).

Owens will report to Operations Manager Gene Sandbloom, Market Manager Lisa Decker and EVP of Content Phil Becker. Sandbloom said, “Geoff is not only a huge asset to both WE 102.9 and Live 95.5, but he brings to Portland a toolkit of skills that we use across all of our Alpha stations. Embracing a ‘can do’ attitude on whatever project he is given, he is a most-welcomed addition to our team.”

Owens returns to Portland from equally scenic Eugene, OR, where he has been working at Bicoastal Media Top 40 KDUK, starting in nights and rising to PD/afternoons two years ago when longtime PD Val Steelecrossed the hall as PD of Country sibling KFLY (US101). Owens previously spent over a decade with iHeartMedia Portland, rising to PD of both Rhythmic KXJM (Jam’n 107.5)/Portland and KUBE/Seattle.

Commenting on his return to Portland with a new company, Owens said, “It feels great to be back in Portland in my home town with a company I’ve admired for a long time.
