Alston Named Brand Manager Of WPGC/DC
• Entercom announced the promotion of Angelique Alston to Brand Manager of heritage Rhythmic/Urban WPGC/Washington, effective immediately. She succeeds Jay Hicks, who exited in April.
Ms. Alston has been with WPGC since 1999 and has worked her way up through the ranks to Promotions Director, Marketing Director, Research Director, and morning show producer for Donnie Simpson, Big Tiggerand Joe Clair. Since 2013 she has served as APD, Morning Show Producer and Events Producer for annual functions like For Sisters Only, Coat Drive 95, and the Back to School and Birthday Bash concerts. Prior to joining WPGC, Alston worked across the street at WHUR as producer for the John, George & TC morning show.
Alston reports to Ivy Savoy-Smith, SVP/Market Manager of Entercom DC, who remarked, “Angelique has done a tremendous job elevating our team and I am excited to see her expand her career as Brand Manager. Her unique way of providing entertainment for our listeners, educating the community with viable content and her engagement with the sales management team tells me she will thrive in this new role.
