ALT 92.3/NYC Signs Off Oct. 27
• Last week Audacy New York announced several major strategic initiatives designed to elevate the news-gathering capabilities, distribution and editorial leadership for venerable news brands 1010 WINS and WCBS-AM (Newsradio 880). The main takeaway was the company’s decision to extend the reach of 1010 WINS by adding an FM simulcast signal on 92.3 — the current home of WNYL (ALT 92.3).
On Monday afternoon, ALT 92.3 offered this update on its impending demise, tweeting, “We just got word on our official sign off time. 9am on 10/27. Hope you can join us that morning for the final hours of Alternative Rock radio in NYC. The station’s ALT format is expected to relocate to WNYL-HD2.
