Amber Lee: Free Agent
• Pros On The Loose — Amber Lee has exited as Operations Manager of the six-station Cumulus cluster in Topeka, KS and PD of AC KMAJ (Magic 107.7) as her position has been eliminated.
Lee has been in the market since October 2009, when she was hired by Great Plains Media as PD/midday talent at the launch of Active Rock KMXN-turned Country 92.9 The Bull. Before that she did mornings on Peak Country KAWO/Boise, ID and Zimmer Top 40 KSYN/Joplin, MO.
Lee broke the news of her departure in a LinkedIn post that reads, “I’m out like a bad song in rotation. After 11 years and 11 months, my position with Cumulus was eliminated last week… The Bureau of Labor Statistics says the median tenure for professionals in radio broadcasting is 3.8 years. So, reaching almost 12 years with a single employer is a remarkable feat in media.” Lee added, “The state of radio today can be hard to love! What’s next for me? TBD.”
