Anderson Named PD of K92/Roanoke

• Brett Sharp, General Manager of the Mel Wheeler Inc. cluster of radio stations in Roanoke-Lynchburg, VA, is pleased to announce that Chris Ryan Anderson has accepted the position of Program Director and Acting Promotions Director of heritage Top 40 WXLK (K92).

Anderson (left), who starts on Oct. 9, spent the past five years in Memphis with Audacy Hot AC WMC-FM (FM 100), most recently as APD/MD and morning co-host until earlier this year, when Audacy sold Country sister WLPF (94.1 The Wolf) to EMF and migrated the Country format over to WMC-FM’s monster signal at 99.7 and shut the Hot AC format down.

Anderson arrives bearing 12+ years of PD experience (as “Chris Ryan“) that started at KKCT (Hot 97.5)/Bismarck, ND in 2006 and progressed to KZWF (Hits 105.9)/Des Moines, IA, WWHX (Hits 100.7)/Bloomington, IL, WRTS (Star 104)/Erie, PA and WSOY (Y103)/Decatur, IL. He also spent a year at KHMX (Mix 96.5)/Houston as the local producer of The Kidd Kraddick Morning Show.

Anderson succeeds Kevin Scott, who is moving over to do television sales at WDBJ7/Roanoke, but will continue to do some part time on-air work for K92.
