Andy Roberts: Free Agent
• Andy Roberts has left the Saga Communications broadcast complex in Champaign, IL after two decades in the building. He most recently programmed Country WIXY and Classic Country WYXY and was a member of the Holstein & Company morning show on WIXY.
Roberts started at WIXY as the night jock in 1999. The following year he moved up to join the morning show, and in 2004, Holstein & Company won the CMA Broadcast Award for Small Market Personality of the Year. Roberts was upped to PD of WIXY in 2010, and he annexed PD stripes for Classic Country WYXY in 2016.
As Roberts tells RAMP, “I was a kid when I started at WIXY — and now I have four of them!
