Angie Ange Returns To Howard U
• Veteran DC media personality Angela “Angie Ange” Hailstorks is making her triumphant return to her alma mater, Howard University as the newly named Director of Content at WHUT — Howard University Television.
In this new role Angie will be responsible for developing and creating new, original, local multi-platform content, working with local creatives and producers to open up new opportunities for content distribution and creation. She will also explore ways to share the engaging content already found on WHUT and PBS to new audiences through a multi-platform approach.
The new gig is a true homecoming for Angie, a Howard alum whose first radio experience was as PD of Howard’s student-run radio station, WHBC 830AM. She’s a graduate of the Cathy Hughes School of Communication and former intern at Howard University’s 96.3 WHUR. Angie later joined WKYS/Washington to do nights, holding down the No. 1 spot in evenings for a number of years before transitioning to afternoon drive, and later, mornings. More recently she was a member of REACH Media’s nationally syndicated The Morning Hustle.
“I am so excited to return to the campus of HU where my career was shaped and formed,” Angie remarked. “I look forward to helping to grow WHUT to new heights and sharing my love of all things arts, culture, lifestyle and so much more across the DMV.” GM Sean Plater commented, “We are excited to welcome Angie Ange back home to Howard University and to allow her the space to use her creativity and expertise as a content creator to help foster a new look and feel on WHUT.”
