APD Stripes For MacGunnigle

• Congrats to Doug MacGunnigle, Producer and Digital Content Director for Cumulus News-Talk simulcast WPRO (99.7 and AM 630) and WPRV (AM 790)/Providence on his swell upgrade to APD.

MacGunnigle (left) started at WPRO back in 2002 as a weekend board op, and quickly branched out into production and on-air duties on WWKX (Hot 106) and 92 PRO FM. As a producer, MacGunnigle has worked with many Rhode Island radio legends, including Steve Kass, Ron St. Pierre, Arlene Violet and Dan Yorke. After stints at other media outlets in the area, MacGunnigle returned to WPRO in May 2015 and has served as producer of the Matt Allen Show and Digital Content Director for the station’s digital assets.

Neil Larrimore, who was recently named PD of WPRO & WPRV, said, “Doug has been an integral part of WPRO-AM and WPRV-AM for many years, and has served as a backbone through a particularly tough period of change over the last 24 months. It’s the perfect time to start him on the next step of his career and I’m proud to name him as Assistant Program Director.” MacGunnigle said, “I’m ecstatic to be working with Neil and the fantastic team at WPRO in this new role.
