Audacy Houston Officially Adds Logan & Ammons
To recap, Logan will oversee programming and operations for KHMX (Mix 96.5), KILT-FM (100.3 The Bull), KKHH (95.7 The Spot), KILT-AM (SportsRadio 610), KIKK-AM (The Bet), and KLOL (Mega 101 FM).
And there’s more — JR Ammons, VP of Programming for Audacy Kansas City, annexes Brand Manager stripes for Mix 96.5/Houston. He will continue to serve as Brand Manager of KZPT (99.7 The Point) and WDAF (106.5 The Wolf)/Kansas City, 102.5 KEZK and KYKY (Y98)/St. Louis and his regular KC VP duties.
“We’re excited to welcome Bruce back and bring JR to the Audacy Houston team,” said Sarah Fraizer, SVP/Market Manager, Audacy Houston. “Bruce is a Country expert and one of the original architects of The Spot. He has always been a great partner and leader, and I can’t wait to see what he cooks up! JR is a great leader who has delivered outstanding results, and I look forward to seeing him expand his expertise to Mix 96.5.”
Logan arrives back in Houston after a six-year stint with Hubbard Radio West Palm Beach as OM and Brand/Content Director of WIRK (New Country 103.1) and Classic Hits WEAT (Sunny 107.9), but he formerly strolled these very Houston hallways for five years as VP of Programming and PD of The Bull and Adult Hits KKHH (95.7 The Spot). Logan earlier spent 17 years with iHeartMedia in various programming roles.
“I’m so excited to be returning to Audacy and Houston!” said Logan. “Thanks to Sarah Frazier, Brian Purdy, Tim Roberts, Dave Richards, Jeff Sottolano and Chris Oliviero for once again handing me the keys to these legendary Houston brands. I know Houston is hot, I know it’s where to find the best queso in the world, and I know how to help teams achieve success! We start immediately.”
Ammons has over three decades of industry experience. He rejoined Audacy in Jan. 2022 after 11 years in Indianapolis as OM for Cumulus Top 40 WZPL, AC WNTR and CBS Sports affiliate WXNT-AM. Ammons earlier spent 11 years at WSTR (Star 94)/Atlanta over two tours of duty, first as APD/MD 1995-2006, and PD when he returned in 2008. In between he earned his programming wings at KMXV/Kansas City and WAPE/Jacksonville.
Ammons remarked, “Mix 96.5 is one of the most-listened-to Hot AC stations in the country, with a weekly audience of over a million people. I’m incredibly excited for the opportunity to work alongside the talented team at KHMX. A huge thank you to Jeff, Dave, Brian and Sarah for trusting me to be part of something so special.”
