• It’s moving day at Cumulus Active Rock WNNX (Rock 100.5)/Atlanta, as the station formally christens its new pm drive show —  Axel & Southside, a charming combo of PD Axel Lowe (left) and longtime station vet “Southside” Steve Rickman (right), who relocates from morning drive.

Southside Steve joined the former WKLS (96 Rock)/Atlanta in the mid ’90s, was part of The Regular Guys (on both 96 Rock and Rock 100.5) and was teamed up with Jason Bailey as Bailey & Southside for the past five years.

After Bailey left last October, Axel and Southside joined forces in mornings on an interim basis, and now, after a successful test drive, they officially make the move together to Lowe’s normal afternoon daypart. These guys together now bring a combined 50 years of Atlanta rock heritage to a show that combines compelling interviews and news, big stories and big laughs along with the best rock for the ride home.
