Axelsen Re-upped @ ALT105.3/San Francisco

• Entercom just announced that Aaron Axelsen will remain in his longtime role as Assistant Program Director and Music Director for KITS (ALT 105.3)/San Francisco, through the magic of a multi-year contract extension. Axelsen will also continue to introduce the Bay Area to new music and new artists via his two long-running specialty shows, Subsonic and Soundcheck.

Axelsen is a Bay Area native who started as an intern at the former Live 105 in 1995. He was named Music Director in 1998 and added APD stripes in 2008. Axelsen is also the cofounder of Popscene, a San Francisco nightlife staple for over 20 years. “Aaron Axelsen is an integral part of the new ALT 105.3 team and we’re excited to continue our professional relationship with him,” said Susan Larkin, Regional President and SVP/Market Manager for Entercom San Francisco. “He’s the quintessential sound of the station and has remained an important part of the station’s success for decades.”
