Ayeeedubb Returning Home To Raleigh

• Earlier this week we reported that Ayeeedubb was leaving her morning position at Albany Broadcasting Rhythmic WAJZ (Jamz 96.3)/Albany, NY for “a swell new gig TBA.” We can now formally reveal that she’s headed to Radio One Urban WQOK (K97.5)/Raleigh, NC as its new MD and midday personality, with a start date of Sept. 7. She succeeds Autumn-Joi, who recently joined Howard University’s WHUR/Washington for middays.

For Ayeeedubb, a.k.a. Alexandra Wurst, the new gig means a move home to North Carolina, where she got her radio start at Urban WGIV (StreetZ 103.3/100.5)/Charlotte. After a year in nights at Mid-West Family Top 40 WQLQ (Live 99.9)/South Bend, IN, Ayeeedubb joined WAJZ to do nights in June 2019 and was elevated to mornings last November.

In making the announcement, OM/PD Jay Tek said, “After a really long, and extensive search, through some of the most amazing candidates in the country, we are really excited to have Ayeeedubb join us at K97 5 in Raleigh. She is an amazing talent who will get the opportunity to come home to the city she was born in, to do middays and serve as MD.” An equally enthused Ayeeedubb is looking forward to returning to the city where she was born, commenting, “I’m really excited to come back home to Raleigh, to take over middays at K97 5!” Ayeeedubb can be heard weekdays from 10am-3pm, starting September 7.
