Baker Headed Home To America
• Baker Trades Shawarmas for Baked Potatoes — stay tuned for further details, but late word to the RAMP Newsroom on Monday evening from our friend James Baker (a.k.a. Jim Kelly), informed us that, after 12 1/2 years as Supervisor of Broadcast Services for Saudi Aramco Radio, he, wife Kristen and son Ozzie are leaving Dhahran, Saudi Arabia and returning Stateside — specifically, to their new home base in Boise, Idaho and the next chapter of their lives. “Only this time, it will be our final destination!” Baker states. Prior to his momentous move halfway around the Earth in Oct. 2009, Baker notably worked at KBIG/Los Angeles and KIOI (Star 101.3) and KFRC/San Francisco.
While Baker is en route home to the U.S., John Kirby plugs in at Studio 1-FM and Studio 2-FM. Kirby is no stranger to the region, as the former PD of Channel 104 Dubai, Group PD of Mediacorp Singapore, Content Director, ARN Dubai (Virgin Radio, Dubai92) and many other stops throughout his radio career, effective June 1.
