Baker Named APD, Boise State Public Radio

• Sending best wishes to our longtime friend, James Baker, who has joined NPR affiliate Boise State Public Radio (News and Music) as APD, working alongside PD Erik Jones. The new gig marks Baker’s return to fulltime radio since he, wife Kristen and son Ozzie returned to America — specifically, Boise, ID — in May 2022 after Baker’s 12-year run as Supervisor of Broadcast Services for Saudi Aramco Radio in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.

Baker’s extensive stateside resume includes a stint as Morning Show Producer at KFRC/San Francisco, PD of KIOI (Star 101.3)/San Francisco, and APD/MD of KBIG/Los Angeles. Earlier in his career Baker did nights on Westwood One’s Bright AC network.

Baker (pictured here inside the network’s gleaming nerve center) tells RAMP, “I’m really excited to work with the awesome crew here, including PD Erik Jones, GM Tom Michael and the entire team. Boise State Public Radio News is a new adventure for me and I’m looking forward to it!” Feel free to say hello to James via his new email address: JamesBaker607@boisestate.edu.
