Beasley Undergoes Serious Downsizing

• UPDATING: RAMP has learned that Beasley Media Group is cutting budgets and downsizing personnel in several markets, including Boston, Philadelphia and New Jersey.

Shocker: RAMP has confirmed that Cadillac Jack, VP of Strategy & Analytics at Beasley Media Group exited last Thursday. He joined the company in Jan. 2013 as Director of Programming for Greater Media Boston. Previously spent nearly two decades with Clear Channel/iHeartMedia as OM/PD of WXKS (Kiss 108)& WJMN (Jam’n 94.5)/Boston, and later, VP of Programming for the iHeart’s New York cluster and PD of WWPR (Power 105.1).

• Another one of the more surprising departures is that of Terrie Carr, a legend in the hallways — and in middays — of the equally legendary Mainstream Rock 105.5 WDHA/Morristown, NJ for the better part of three decades. In a Saturday Facebook post, Carr said she was fired on Friday via “a one minute phone call” informing her that “my ‘services’ were no longer needed as PD and midday host.”

This had been Carr’s second tour of duty at WDHA — she originally spent 15 years there in middays and was PD for six years under Greater Media, later moving to Press Communications’ WHTG/Monmouth-Ocean from 2007-2009, before returning to WDHA in Jan. 2010.

Sadly, Carr is not the only casualty in the building — she notes that “we also lost many talented members of our team, which makes it even harder.” We understand some promotion and production folks were also cut.

• Also out: Debbie Mazella, PD/midday talent at AC WMGQ (Magic 98.3)/New Brunswick, NJ. Mazella joined WMGC in 2007 and added APD stripes a year later. She was elevated to the PD chair in Jan. 2017. Mazella shared her news via Instagram post, also noting that her termination was delivered in a phone call “that lasted only a minute.”

• Another name has now surfaced: Michael Bufis, Promotions & Marketing Director for WDHA, WMGQ, Classic Oldies 1250 WMTR/Morristown, & FOX Sports affiliate WCTC (1450 Fox Sports New Jersey)/New Brunswick.

Bufis began his radio career in August 2014 when he joined then Greater Media as a part-time employee. He was elevated to full-time status in April 2016 as the Sales Assistant/Office Administrator and continued to steadily move up through the ranks to his most recent position. Bufis is ready to put his experience to work for [your company name here]. Hit him up at 201-873-3102 or mike.bufis92@gmail.com.

Mike Missanelli exits as midday host at Sports-Talk WPEN (97.5 The Fanatic)/Philadelphia, exactly a year after he returned following a two-year hiatus. After starting as a sportswriter for the Philadelphia Inquirer, Missanelli transitioned to radio in 1993 and worked for several Philly stations, including Audacy rival WIP-FM. Missanelli originally joined The Fanatic in 2007, and anchored afternoon drive for 15 years until his departure in May 2022.

PLEASE NOTE: WE HAVE HEARD SEVERAL OTHER NAMES OF DOWNSIZED EMPLOYEES BUT ARE AWAITING CONFIRMATION — AND PERMISSION — TO PUBLISH.
