Big Reid Drives The Bay Home On KBLX

• There has been no official announcement, but RAMP has confirmed some significant personnel movement inside Bonneville’s San Francisco HQ, starting with the news that Big Reid, who does nights on Top 40 KMVQ (99.7 Now) has been awarded a bonus second airshift — afternoon drive over on Urban AC 102.9 KBLX.

Timed with Reid’s arrival, current KBLX pm driver Billy Vidal slides into the midday shift that had been occupied by 20-year KBLX veteran Antoine Davis, who was downsized last month. Vidal remains in morning drive across the hall on AC 96.5 KOIT.

An understandably excited Big Reid shared his equally big news on Instagram, as he posted, “If you grew up in the Bay Area, you already know how big of a deal this is. I understand how important this brand is to the people who came before me and I don’t take that lightly. Honored to let y’all know that I have accepted an opportunity to hold down Afternoon Drive on the LEGENDARY @kblx1029! You can now hear me every day, Monday through Friday from 2pm to 6pm playing The Best Throwbacks and R&B! This is gonna be fun! Letsss gooo!”
