Blake & Carr Upped @ iHeart Cleveland
• iHeartMedia Cleveland made two PD announcements today, both involving company vets — Carletta Blake has been named Program Director of Country 99.5 WGAR, effective April 8, and Jason Carr is named Program Director of Adult Hits WHLK (106.5 The Lake), effective immediately. They report to Keith Abrams, SVP of Programming for iHeartMedia’s North Ohio region and succeed Charley Connolly, who left in February.
Ms. Blake earns the transfer from Country sister WNCB (B93.9)/Raleigh, where she was PD and midday host. She previously programmed WRNS/Greenville-New Bern, NC. Blake began her career at KYTS & KSCS/Dallas.
For Carr, the move to the new gig is a tad shorter — he’s been in the building since February 2018 and is currently PD of ALT 99.1 (WMMS-HD2) and APD of WMMS and now adds PD stripes for 106.5 The Lake. Carr was previously Operations Manager for WSBH & WTSM in the Melbourne/Treasure Coast area of Florida, as well as Station Manager for WHLG/Vero Beach. His career also includes a seven-year stint in Dallas-Fort Worth as part of the Lex & Terry Radio Network.
“I could not be more excited for Carletta and Jason,” said Keith Hotchkiss, President of iHeartMedia’s North Ohio region. “Both are incredibly adept and have proven, extensive track records of success with aligning our market-leading iHeartMedia brands across all platforms. They are a perfect match for the vision of these stations and I know they will continue to move WGAR and The Lake forward with music and content our listeners love.”
