Bologna: Part Of This Complete Breakfast
• Heritage public radio station WGBH-FM/Boston has named Jamie Bologna as the new Executive Producer of GBH News’ Boston Public Radio, enjoyed weekdays from 11am-2pm. Bologna will work closely with Boston Public Radio hosts Margery Eagan and Jim Braude to shape the vision and day-to-day operations of the show starting next Monday, Jan. 10.
Bologna crosses the street from Boston University’s WBUR, where he served as Sr. Producer and studio director of Radio Boston. Over his public media career, Bologna has been honored with two regional Edward R. Murrow awards for his work in writing and reporting, and news documentary work. Bologna graduated from Tufts University in 2008 and earned his master’s in journalism from BU’s College of Communication in 2015.
“As GBH News continues to focus on delivering audiences the most interesting and distinctive local stories of the day, Jamie will bring fresh vision to one of our most popular programs,” said Pam Johnston, GM for News at GBH. “I’m delighted that our nationwide search ended locally, with an accomplished and award-winning journalist who has deep professional roots in the region and in public media.”
Bologna is the latest of several new leadership hires at GBH News, starting with the recent appointment of Executive Editor Lee Hill, followed by the announcement that Paris Alston and Jeremy Siegel will join as co-hosts of Morning Edition in the new year. Fourteen new editors, reporters and producers have also joined GBH News since October 2021. The most recent hires include Alexi Cohan as Producer on Greater Boston, and Sam Turken, who joins as Worcester Bureau Reporter on Jan. 10.
