Bridges Steps Down As The Boss’ Boss

• That complex intersection of professional and personal is the current situation at Press Communications’ Classic Rock simulcast WWZY & WBHX (107-1 The Boss)/Monmouth-Ocean, NJ, as Robby Bridges on Friday announced via social media that he was exiting his dual role as VP of Programming and morning co-host. “Wrapping up an incredible four-year run at The Boss today in New Jersey and incredibly proud of the team and radio station we built, it’s been truly something special,” Bridges posted. “I’m departing on my terms and by my choice and on to new adventures. Thank you to the management of Press Communications for the great opportunity and for the work and dedication of one of the best crews in radio. Happy holiday weekend!”

In a separate Facebook post, Bridges’ wife and morning co-host Rochelle Gagnon announced that she would remain with The Boss. The post reads, in part, “While I am working through a million thoughts and trying to process, I am planning to continue the show for as long as they will have me on 107.1 The Boss. I am extremely proud of the brand that Robby and I have built over the last 8 years. I will cherish every moment, every laugh, every listener and friend I’ve made along the way, and hope to make many more. Thank you to those how have stood by my side, and continue to build me up. All my love to Robby as he starts a new adventure, wherever that may be. I will always be your biggest fan and loving supporter.”

RAMP hears that Boss personality Ross Brittain is on deck to step in as co-host.

Robby & Rochelle arrived at The Boss in Sept. 2021, coming off a stint with Macdonald Garber Broadcasting’s heritage Top 40 WKHQ/Traverse City, MI, where Robby was PD/morning host and VP of Programming, and Gagnon was morning co-host and Director of Promotions & Marketing.

Bridges previously served as OM with Townsquare’s Portsmouth, NH cluster, preceded by an 11-year run with Cumulus Media and Westwood One, rising to Director of FM Programming for Hot AC WDVD and Country WDRQ/Detroit. Bridges earlier programmed sister WEBE 108/Bridgeport, CT and WFAS-FM/Westchester, NY and he continues to guest-host on Scott Shannon‘s True Oldies Channel.
