Bruce Logan On The Loose

• Economic issues affecting the radio industry have now reached Hubbard Radio West Palm Beach — Programming pro Bruce Logan is now seeking his next radio challenge, as his position as OM of Hubbard West Palm and Brand/Content Director of Country WIRK and Classic Hits WEAT (Sunny 107.9) has been eliminated.

The unfortunate news was delivered in a staff memo from Market President Elizabeth Hamma that reads, in part, “Bruce brought incredible knowledge and passion to the team for the nearly six years he was here, and left behind a string of record-breaking results across the brands. His belief in people development will live on in our walls with the wonderful work he did in growing talent… He will be missed.”

Hamma further announced that Grover Collins, PD of Country sister WUBE (B105)/Cincinnati will absorb WIRK programming duties, aided locally by pm driver Nick Rivers, while David Adams, PD of Hot AC sister WRMF, will now have custody of Sunny 107.9, and Mark McCray, PD of WMBX (X102.3) will oversee the cluster’s podcast efforts. Hamma added, “We have wonderful people who have all agreed to step up and help.”

Logan joined Hubbard West Palm in June 2019, following a five-year stint as VP of Programming for Entercom Houston and PD of Country KILT (100.3 The Bull) and former Adult Hits KKHH (95.7 The Spot). He earlier spent 17 years with iHeartMedia, serving as National Country Brand Coordinator and Regional VP of Programming, and programmed WKKT/Charlotte, WTQR/Greensboro and Country duo WSSL & WESC/Greenville, SC.

Logan commented, “I am eternally grateful to Ginny Morris, Dave Bestler, Greg Strassell and Elizabeth Hamma for the opportunity to run the West Palm Beach cluster for the past six years.  We spent most of that time camped out with four of the top five brands P25-54. Special thanks to the entire team at Hubbard WPB. Nothing that we accomplished would have been possible without their energy, hard work and talent.”

In closing, Logan said, “I am excited about the future — there is more audio being consumed right now that at any time in our history. After taking a break, we will figure out the next best move for my family. Reach me at BruceLoganRadio@gmail.com.”
