Carter Named PD of WTQR/Greensboro

Casey Carter is the new PD of iHeartMedia’s WTQR (New Country Q104.1)/Greensboro-Winston Salem-High Point, effective April 17. The cool part is Ms. Carter gets to retain her North Carolina vanity plates, as she earns the transfer from the APD/midday spot at sister WKKT (96.9 The Kat)/Charlotte.

In making the announcement, Rich McMillan, SVP of Programming for iHeartMedia’s Virginia-Carolina Region said of Carter, “She is an impressive radio talent and successful programmer who brings tons of enthusiasm and excitement to our building. I’m anxious to hand her the keys to the station and to introduce her to Lexington BBQ!”

Carter remarked, “I couldn’t be more thrilled to join a legendary station like Q104.1. I look forward to working with the fantastic staff, and am happy to serve the Virginia-Carolina region.” Carter succeeds Todd Nixon, who left in January to program Steel City Media Country KBEQ (Q104)/Kansas City.
