Cat Collins Departs Townsquare

RAMP has confirmed that veteran programmer Cat Collins is leaving Townsquare Media after nearly seven years in the multi-pronged role of Vice President of Top 40 & Hot AC, Regional Content Director for Boise & Twin Falls, ID; Tri-Cities & Yakima, WA; Bismarck, ND and Sioux Falls, SD, and show runner for Top 40 and Hot AC versions of Pop Crush.

Collins (left) now plans to return his full attention to operating his consultancy, where his focus will be on consulting radio, digital strategy and monetization for radio, talent management and developing syndication, including his current Superadio project, Nessa On Air.

Collins joined Townsquare in March 2016, following a seven-year run with Clear Channel/iHeartMedia San Francisco, where he programmed Hot AC KIOI (Star 101.3) and Rhythmic KYLD (Wild 94.9), later adding Group Programming oversight of the company’s 23 Rhythmic stations. Collins’ earlier career stops include WPXY/Rochester, NY, WJMN/Boston, and KQKS/Denver.

“I’m very thankful for a terrific run with Townsquare,” Collins said. “I ran the music for two formats encompassing 43 stations, ran label relations, talent-coached our local morning shows, developed and ran four syndicated shows for Pop Crush, and helped develop systems and operations company-wide. Learning and integrating our digital business and monetization was a blessing as well.”

In closing, Collins said, “But it’s the people I’ll miss the most. Working with and mentoring Brand Managers and developing talent was, for me, a gift. I learned from every one of the hundreds of people I worked with over the years as well. Seeing their growth and hearing the difference in our stations so many years later is a source of pride and satisfaction I really can’t put into words.” Looking ahead, Collins can be contacted at 303-882-5211 or CatCollinsConsult@gmail.com.
