Chase Upped To Saga Dir./Group Programming
• Saga Communications keeps it in the family and promotes 16-year company veteran Scott Chase to Director of Group Programming. Chase, the longtime Operations Manager of the company’s 5 Star Media Group in Clarksville, TN and PD of Hot AC WCVQ (Q108) will be relocating to the company’s corporate HQ in Gross Pointe Farms, MI and succeeds former VP of Programming Bob Lawrence, who was recently named Market Manager of New South Radio’s Jackson, MI group.
Chase arrived in Clarksville in March 2004. His prior PD stops include the former WRQQ/Nashville, the former WSSR (Star 95.7)/Tampa, WZOK/Rockford, IL and WAOA/Melbourne, FL. He also served as MD/nights at WOVV/West Palm Beach and he did two stints in weekends at the legendary “Power Pig,” WFLZ/Tampa in the late ’80s/early ’90s.
In making the announcement, Saga Pres./CEO Ed Christian said, “We had excellent candidates express interest in the position of Director of Group Programming for Saga. Scott already understands the Saga culture, and this will be a seamless transition for him and us. I welcome Scott as a member of our corporate team.”
Chase remarked, “I love Saga Communications, and I’m very excited to make the move to the head office in Grosse Pointe. I know there are a lot of talented people out there, and I want to thank Ed Christian and Chris Forgy for putting their confidence in me. We have an incredibly talented pool of General Managers, Programmers, and Air Talent, and I can’t wait to work with each and every one of them.
