Chattanooga To Perform Delicate Frequency Swap

• We initially reported this news a few days ago… and now, here it is again, this time with some bonus details and a quote… Audacy announced a strategic frequency realignment of two of its popular Chattanooga stations — beginning Friday, May 23 at noon ET, Active Rock WRXR (Rock 105) will unplug and relocate up to the more powerful Class C3 signal at 103.7, the current home of Top 40 sister WKXJ (103.7 Kiss FM), which, in turn, will transfer its programming over to WRXR’s current Class A signal at 105.5. WRXR will rebrand as Rock 103.7, and WKXJ will rebrand as 105.5 Kiss FM, as indicated by these swell new logos.

“We always find ways to improve the listening experience for our consumers,” said Nichole Hartman, SVP/Market Manager, Audacy Chattanooga. “Rock 105 has been a heritage brand to the community, and this new frequency will elevate its legacy to more fans beyond Chattanooga. At the same time, broadcasting Kiss FM on 105.5 allows us to bring the best pop hits to the heart of the city and form a deeper connection with listeners in the Chattanooga metropolitan area.”
