Chris Crowley On The Loose
• RAMP has learned that Chris Crowley has exited as PD of Alternative WEND (106.5 The End) & Classic Rock WRFX (99.7 The Fox)/Charlotte and Classic Rock WRDU (100.7 WRDU) & Alternative ALT 95.3(WDCG-HD2)/Raleigh, the result of more corporate cuts.
Crowley shared his news in a social post that reads, “After 34 incredible years in radio — thank you, Mark Murphy, for giving me my first shot at KGOT/Anchorage — last week I got the news: my time with iHeartMedia has come to an end. And likely, my career in radio along with it.”
He added, “While I’m not shutting the door completely, I’ve grown to love Charlotte and its amazing people so much that my days of packing up and moving are officially over. I’m incredibly proud of my time at iHeart, especially at WEND, where I had the privilege of working alongside the brilliantly talented Woody & Wilcox Show. Together, we achieved the highest ratings in the brand’s history — a highlight I’ll always cherish.”
Prior to his arrival in Charlotte in October 2021, Crowley served as Director of Content for Townsquare Media’s group in Buffalo, NY. His previous programming/on-air stops include KGON/Portland, OR; WCMF & WROC/Rochester; WARO/Ft. Myers, FL; KNRQ, KEHK, & KUJZ/Eugene, OR and a stint with Jacobs Media in Detroit.
In closing, Crowley said, “A huge thank you to Lisa Worden, Garner Goin, and Steve Geoffries for your openness, insight, guidance, and for always being willing to listen. And to Rozak, the epitome of a team player, thank you for being an outstanding colleague & friend. While my future may be a bit uncertain right now, I know this: whatever’s next will turn out for the best. It always does.”
