Chris Huff Circles Back To Audacy Houston
The move reunites Huff, a 2023 inductee into the Texas Radio Hall of Fame, with Audacy Houston VP of Programming Bruce Logan, who also returned to the building in July after six years away. This is familiar territory for Huff, who was originally hired by Logan in 2014 as APD/MD of The Bull, crossing the street after 12 years with Cumulus rival KSCS. During his stint Huff helped lead The Bull to its first-ever ACM win and its highest shares in the PPM era. He also helped create and launch Adult Hits sister KKHH (95.7 The Spot).
Huff was elevated to PD of The Bull in 2019 and left Audacy in Sept. 2020 during a large round of corporate downsizing, joining Country Aircheck two months later. His early radio stops include WIVK/Knoxville,WHSL/Greensboro, WUSY/Chattanooga and KPLX/Dallas.
“I didn’t think anything could convince me to leave Country Aircheck… then Bruce Logan called,” said Huff. “This is truly a tremendous opportunity to return to radio with the staff and stations that have been such an integral part of my career.”
Logan remarked, “We are building a world-class team at Audacy Houston and Chris brings an enormous amount of experience and knowledge about Country music in Texas. As the original architects of The Spot, I’m thrilled to reunite with him. With Chris collaborating with JR Ammons on Mix 96.5, we have a team that is built for success.”
