Clapp For WRUF’s New PD
• University of Florida-owned Country outlet WRUF (103.7 The Gator)/Gainesville, FL welcomes Justin “Tyler” Clapp to town as its new Brand Manager and afternoon personality. Tyler makes the drive from Ft. Collins, CO, where he was most recently OM of Townsquare’s cluster and Brand Manager of Country KUAD (K99) until April. Prior to his move to Colorado in late 2014, Tyler was VP of Programming for West Lebanon, NH-based Great Eastern Radio. Interestingly, Tyler is no Florida rookie — from 2007-2009 he programmed Renda Broadcasting Country WWGR (Gator Country 101.9)/Ft. Myers, FL.
Tyler’s move back into the Eastern Time zone now frees up Rob Harder to focus on his oversight role as Director of Programming for the five-station group, which also includes ESPN affiliate WRUF-AM, which turns 90 this year. There is also non-comm NPR affiliate WUFT as well as its two translator-powered HD channels — WUFT Classical (HD2) and the HD3 Top 40 student-run station, GHQ.
“We are really excited to have Justin here at 103.7 The Gator,” Harder tells RAMP. “He brings great expertise and a terrific, winning attitude to the Gator Nation.” Tyler can be congratulated at justin.clapp@wruf.com.
