Cleveland Now 100% More Rude
• Radio One Cleveland welcomes Yonni Rude into the market as the newly named Operations Manager for all of the brands in the cluster — Urban WENZ (Z107.9), Urban AC 93.1 WZAK, Urban Gospel WJMO (Praise 94.5) and WERE-AM (NewsTalk 1490).
Rude earns the transfer after a five-month stint in Detroit as OM of Radio One Urban WGPR (Hot 107.5), Urban AC WDMK (105.9 Kiss FM) and the Detroit Praise Network WDMK-HD2 (Praise 93.5/98.3/99.9). Prior to Detroit, Rude spent almost three years as OM of Radio One’s Richmond group. Before joining Radio One in October 2016, Rude spent 16 years with Cumulus/Citadel in Charleston, SC, the final three years as PD of Top 40 WSSX (95SX). Earlier in his career Rude was MD/afternoon talent on Beasley Urban WZFX (Foxy 99)/Fayetteville, NC.
The announcement of Rude’s imminent arrival was made by a clearly thrilled Regional Vice President Eddie Harrell, Jr., who said, “We are thrilled to have Yonni join our team here in Cleveland. His track record and programming acumen make this a perfect fit. We look forward to Yonni furthering our standing as the dominant force with respect to serving African Americans in Northeast Ohio.” Rude commented, “I’m excited for this opportunity and look forward to working closely with Eddie Harrell, [VP of Programming] Colby Colb and the amazing Radio One Cleveland All-Star team.”
