Collins Elevated To Exec. Director, LABF

The Library of American Broadcasting Foundation (LABF) is pleased to announce that Mary M. Collins has been named Executive Director, effective Jan. 1. Collins has served as Treasurer of the Foundation for the past several years, bringing deep industry expertise and a lifelong commitment to advancing broadcasting’s legacy.

In her new role, she will be responsible for working closely with the Board of Directors, the LAB Collection team at the University of Maryland and overseeing the organization’s numerous initiatives throughout the year, including its preservation grants, educational programming, and the annual Giants of Broadcasting & Electronic Arts awards luncheon gala.

“Mary’s leadership, deep industry knowledge, and passion for media’s history and future make her the ideal person to help guide the LABF into its next chapter,” said LABF Co-Chairs Heidi Raphael and Jack Goodman. “Her proven ability to build strong organizations — including her longtime contributions to the LABF — and her collaborative spirit align perfectly with our mission to preserve and celebrate the history of broadcasting.”

Now running her own advisory business, MMC Solutions, and serving as the “Managing Media” guest columnist for TVNewsCheck, Collins previously served as President & CEO of the Media Financial Management Association (MFM) and its subsidiary, the Broadcast Cable Credit Association (BCCA), from Jan. 2003 through Sept. 2021. A Chicago-area native, Collins’ career includes sales, marketing, and business development roles at SportsChannel Chicago, Bravo, and American Movie Classics.
