Coloff Media Welcomes Iowa’s Own Jared Allen
• Nice to see longtime North Iowa broadcaster Jared Allen back in action — he’s been hired by Coloff Media as Program Director of AC KHAM (B103.1)/Britt, IA and Production Director of B103.1 and Full Service KIOW (Mix 107.3)/Forest City-Mason City, effective August 26.
As we recently reported, Allen spent the past 18 years with Alpha Media Mason City as cluster Director of Promotions and Director of Content for Top 40 KLSS (Star 106), Classic Hits KYTC (Super Hits 102.7), and Soft Oldies KRIB 1490/96.7 until he was caught up in company cutbacks in May.
“Having a person of this caliber, with great experience in programming music, covering local events, and informing the public about severe weather to join our team is a no-brainer,” said Karl Wooldridge, Station Manager of KIOW & KHAM. “We look forward to working with Jared to inform and educate North Iowans about all the great local things happening here.”
Allen joins a veteran team of long-time broadcasters in Forest City — PD Mark Skaar hosts the popular Morning Stretch on Mix 107.3, alongside John Jacobs, followed by AJ Taylor in middays with The All-Request Lunch Buffet. Allen will take over the 2-5pm shift on Mix, and also do 9am-2pm on B103.1.
