Crandall Cruisin’ Through 2020
• Entercom Communications has extended the contract of Rick Crandall, longtime PD and morning host at Oldies KEZW (Cruisin’ 1430)/Denver through 2020. Crandall has been a staple of Denver’s broadcast community since he joined team KEZW back in 1991. During that time he has earned numerous awards, including the Marconi Award for Adult Standards Station of the Year and the Colorado Broadcasters Association’s Harry Hoth Award for Public Service. In 2012, The Colorado Broadcast Association acknowledged Crandall with the highly esteemed “Rex Howell Award for Broadcaster of the Year” for his commitment to the industry and accomplishments in the community.
Throughout his broadcast career, Crandall, a veteran himself, has actively supported Colorado veterans. KEZW proudly sponsors several annual events including Valentines for Veterans, Operation Christmas Joy, Veteran’s Fair and Veteran’s Day Salute. One of his biggest achievements, both as a veteran and a radio personality, was raising the $2 million needed to begin construction of the Colorado Freedom Memorial, a site commemorating the nearly 6,000 Colorado soldiers who sacrificed their lives for our freedom.
Moments after the paperwork was signed, Mike Peterson, VP of Programming for Entercom Denver said, “Rick is one of the best broadcasters in the business with an undeniable passion for the community. We’re lucky to have him!”
