Cumulus Makes Savage Decision
Cumulus Media has named 29-year programming pro Randy Savage as Operations Manager of its five-station cluster in Wilkes-Barre-Scranton, PA. He will also be the day-to-day PD and afternoon personality on WSJR (NASH FM 93.7). Savage, a.k.a. Bruce Murry arrives in Pennsylvania following a 20-year run with Renda Broadcasting in Ft. Myers-Naples, FL, where he was PD of Country WWGR (Gator Country 101.9), Adult Hits WJGO (102.9 Bob FM), Hot AC WSGL (Mix 104.7) and News-Talk 98.9 WGUF.
Chris Kenney, VP/Market Manager of Cumulus Wilkes Barre-Scranton said, “Great things are happening here at Cumulus! I feel that bringing Randy aboard will help our cluster grow and execute our vision for the Wilkes Barre Market. We are fortunate to have him here.”
Savage said, “It has been the honor of my life to program these great radio stations in Southwest Florida. They are near and dear to my heart but it’s time to move on. I’m excited about joining Cumulus Media and the Wilkes Barre-Scranton cluster and look forward to working with the great staff there to continue to grow these brands.” Savage succeeds Mike Vincent, who, ironically, moved to Florida last October as OM of Cumulus Media’s four-station Melbourne group and PD of Top 40 WAOA.
