Cumulus Syracuse Ups Roberts, Walker
• Cumulus Radio Group in Syracuse, NY, the home of heritage Top 40 WNTQ (93Q) announced the promotions of two deserving employees — let’s start with Rick Roberts (left), a 21-year 93Q vet, the station’s popular afternoon drive personality and MD for the past 12 years, has been rewarded with APD stripes and bonus Digital Content Manager duties.
At the same time it was announced that Cumulus Syracuse Production Director Joey Walker (right) has been promoted into the 93Q midday slot, and will also take on Digital Content Manager responsibilities for sister stations WAQX and WXTL. Walker replaces Jack Ryan, who recently relocated to San Diego.
Operations Manager Tom Mitchell commented, “We are pleased to promote from within. In these new roles, both Rick and Joey will apply valuable fresh perspective to market leader 93Q. Rick assumes all Assistant Program Director duties, along with Digital Content oversight/management and the afternoon drive air shift. Joey brings talent and enthusiasm to the 93Q midday slot.
