Cumulus Ups Hoffman To VP of AC
• Cumulus Media has promoted Chris Hoffman to Vice President of Adult Contemporary, and will now oversee best practices, artist and label relations and company communications for the company’s 27 AC radio stations. Hoffman will retain his existing role as Operations Manager for AC KBEE (B98.7), Country KUBL (K-Bull 93), and Talk KKAT-860 AM/Salt Lake City.
Hoffman is a 35-year radio veteran who caught the bug while still in high school, working at the University of Colorado’s radio station. As a teenager he worked for Shamrock Broadcasting’s KXKL (Kool 105)/Denver, rising to Program Director in 1996. He went on to program Cumulus News-Talk KCMO/Kansas City, winning two Marconi Awards, and was later upped to OM/PD of KCMO and Classic Rock KCFX (101 The Fox). In November 2015, after two years as PD of Entercom Classic Rock KUFX (98.5 K-Fox)/San Francisco-San Jose, Hoffman joined Cumulus Salt Lake City.
John Dimick, SVP of Programming Operations, Cumulus Media, said, “Having the depth to recruit from within and promote someone with Chris’ abilities is another example of our commitment to having the best and brightest in Cumulus Media. This is well deserved recognition, and we are delighted to have Chris as part of the Audience and Content leadership team.”
Hoffman remarked, “I couldn’t be more thrilled to lead our AC team at Cumulus and work with our PDs to grow our legendary group of stations. A huge thank you to EVP Brian Philips and our VPs of Programming, John Dimick, Doug Hamand and Greg Frey for this amazing opportunity. I can’t wait to get started.”
