Cumulus Worcester Promotes Three
• Cumulus Media has strengthened the leadership bench in its Worcester, MA group with the promotion of three pros into key positions — Chuck Perks (left), PD of Classic Hits WWFX (100 FM The Pike) adds Operations Manager stripes for Classic Country WORC (98.9 FM NASH Icon), while Keith Stephens (center) has been upped to PD of WORC. Stephens (a.k.a. Keith Katsoulis) has served as Promotions Director for Nash Icon, The Pike and Hot AC WXLO for the past two years. He previously served as APD/MD at sister WMAS/Springfield, and spent 14 years doing nights on WKLB (Country 102.5)/Boston.
Filling Stephens’ previous position as Promotions Director for WXLO, WWFX and WORC-FM is Matt Henry (right), a nine-year veteran of the Cumulus Worcester Promotions Department and Street Teams.
Bob Goodell, RVP of Cumulus Worcester-Boston-New London, CT, said, “Chuck and I worked together in a previous radio life and he has been a valuable programming partner to have with me here. Keith has a passion for radio and Country, in particular, which makes it exciting for me to put someone like him in the driver’s seat of 98.9 NASH Icon. I look forward to seeing how much more these two radio stations can accomplish in Worcester under their leadership.” Goodell added, “Matt has an enthusiasm for radio and promotions of a caliber few could rival. He’s a very welcome addition to our team at Cumulus Worcester/Boston.”
Perks said, “I’m very excited and proud to continue as PD of 100 FM The Pike and in my expanded role as Operations Manager for 98.9 NASH Icon. Great things are happening here at Cumulus Worcester and I can’t wait to dig in with Keith Stephens and help NASH Icon grow.” Stephens said, “I’m thrilled to work with Chuck Perks and with my friend and mentor Charlie Cook again. With the upgraded transmitter and enhanced sound of 98.9 NASH Icon, we are positioned to grow the NASH Icon brand in Worcester and I’m truly excited to be a part of that.” Henry added, “I’ve enjoyed working in the promotion department for many years and it’s great to get the opportunity to jump behind the steering wheel, especially with 104.5 XLO’s signal improvements in downtown Boston.”
