DC Back On The Clock In Tulsa
Fortunately, Cristi won’t have to relocate — he famously spent 20 years across the street with iHeartMedia Tulsa, serving as PD of the legendary 97.5 KMOD and rising to SVP of Programming for iHeart Tulsa & Oklahoma City until his unscheduled departure in March 2024 during a round of corporate restructuring.
The news of Cristi’s hire was delivered in a staff memo from Griffin Media President Wade Deaver, which reads, in part, “DC has more than 40 years of radio experience, most recently with iHeartMedia, and has spent many years serving the Oklahoma City and Tulsa communities. During his career, he has led programming initiatives across a variety of formats, including Rock, Country, Classic Country, CHR, Rhythmic CHR, and Classic Rock, among others. Having started as a morning talent, DC’s unrivaled passion for high-quality, local radio programming aligns perfectly with the core Griffin values. He is committed to our mission as Oklahoma’s Own — to keep Oklahomans safe, informed, and connected.”
Cristi will succeed the retiring Bruce Law, whose last day is Oct. 24. Deaver noted, “Bruce has played an instrumental role in shaping Griffin Radio’s success. Bruce’s commitment to excellence and ideation has elevated our programming. We are grateful for the contribution he has made to our team and to Oklahoma radio.”
