DJ Riddler On The Loose
• RAMP has learned that Rich “DJ Riddler” Pangilinan has resigned his dual programming position as APD/MD of Radio One Top 40 duo WNOW (RadioNOW 100.9)/Indianapolis and KROI (RadioNOW 92.1)/Houston. His last day will be May 10.
Riddler tells RAMP, “I leave here on a high note, knowing that my work with the team in Indy has resulted in a four-month uptrend in the ratings, including the latest March survey being No. 3 18-34 Persons, No. 3 in mornings, Top 5 PM drive and No. 1 at nights. I’m also proud of the work I’ve done in Houston bringng in revenue and strategic partnerships to help lay the groundwork for 92.1 Radio Now. I feel confident that all the work I’ve put in Indy and Houston are set for someone else to succeed.”
Riddler notably spent eight years with former CBS Radio Top 40 KKHH (Hot 95.7)/Houston, rising through the ranks from Mix Show pro to APD/MD in June 2016. He remained there until January 2017 when the station flipped to Adult Hits. Two months later he was hired by Radio One as MD of KROI/Houston, and last August he was named APD/MD for both stations. Riddler’s earlier Texas stops include KRBE/Houston, KHFI/Austin and KTFM/San Antonio, and he has also lent his mad skillz to Z100 and WKTU/New York.
In conclusion, Riddler said, “I want to thank Colby Colb (Radio One VP of Programming), Mark McCray (VP of Programming, Dallas), Pam McKay (VP/GM, Houston), Deon Levingston (VP/GM, Indianapolis) and Terri Thomas (OM, Houston) for the opportunity at Urban One and allowing me to stay during this transition. As for my immediate future, I’m going to take this time to go back into the studio, work on original music, remixes, launch my new podcast, until other opportunities may present itself. I can be reached via email at djriddler@mac.com.”
