Done Deal: Shadow White’s Back!
• A few days ago we shared the news of Valorie Knight‘s “semi-retirement” — she’s stepping down as OM of Mid-West Family’s cluster in Springfield, MO to explore new avenues outside of radio. At that time we casually mentioned that company veteran Shadow White was returning. Today we received an official press release from Mid-West Family Broadcasting, with a photo and logos and everything, formally welcoming Ms. Shadow White back as the newly named Assistant Program Director for Active Rock KQRA (Q102.1) and Events and Marketing Coordinator for the four-station group.
Ms. White is already well acquainted with the layout of the Mid-West Family Springfield broadcast facility and KQRA, as she had spent most of her career at the stations dating back to May 2002. More recently White had served as the Area Marketing Director for Chick-fil-A in Fayetteville, AR, before returning to Springfield to be closer to family. She and her son, Jaxson, now reside in Springfield, and her husband, Rob, is part-owner of Opfer Communications, a Springfield-based production company. White commented, “I’m excited to be returning to Mid-West Family and ready to immerse myself into their new digital marketing strategies as well as focusing on KQRA programming, events, and the cluster marketing.”
Scott Ellis, PD of Q102 and Rhythmic KOSP (92.9 The Beat), who was recently promoted to OM, succeeding Valorie Knight, said, “I feel so lucky that this opportunity fell in my lap. What a luxury for me as Program Director to not only bring back one of the market’s most well known talents but also someone who knows Q102 like it’s one of her children. Shadow helped launch KQRA, it feels like a homecoming, and we couldn’t be prouder to have her back.” Shadow can be welcomed back at shadow@q1021.fm.
