Duff Lindsey Goin’ Fishin’
• After a stellar radio career that spans 50 years, more than 30 of those years in various roles with Beasley Media Group, South Florida broadcasting icon Duff Lindsey announced his impending radio retirement, effective June 30.
For Lindsey, the date July 1 holds very special meeting — 1) He turns 70 this year, and 2) as he noted, “on Monday, July 1, 2019 I will be celebrating 50 years since my first radio paycheck.” Lindsey is currently the Operations Manager for Beasley’s Boca Raton, FL cluster that includes Financial Talk WSBR-AM (740AM, 96.9 & 103.9 Money Talk Radio)/Boca Raton, International 980 WHSR-AM and Brokered Talk WWNN (1470AM/95.3FM)/Pompano Beach, FL.
Prior to landing in Boca in March 2011, Lindsey briefly doubled as morning host and sales guy at Classic Country WFLL-AM/Ft. Lauderdale. Before that he spent four years in sales at Beasley Sports-Talk WQAM and Country WKIS/Miami; and from 1997-2006 he programmed WQAM. Lindsey’s other notable PD stops include WJHM (102 Jamz)/Orlando, WHQT (Hot 105)/Miami and XHRM/San Diego. Commenting on the end of the Duff Lindsey era, Beasley EVP of Programming Justin Chase said, “Duff is a total pro and we will miss him greatly.” Your best wishes can be sent directly to Duff at duff@bbgiboca.com.
When naming Lindsey’s successor, Beasley keeps it in the building and promotes Producer A.J. Gunn to Operations Manager. As Justin Chase tells RAMP, “A.J. has risen through the ranks at our Boca Raton radio stations and I know he’ll do a great job.” Congratulate Gunn at aj.gunn@bbgi.com.
