Edge Running Raleigh & Greensboro
Chris Edge has been named Area Senior Vice President of Programming for iHeartMedia Raleigh and Greensboro, effective immediately. For the past five years Edge has served as SVP of Programming for the five-station Raleigh market. In his newly enhanced role, as Area SVP of Programming, he will also oversee programming for iHeartMedia Greensboro’s five stations.
In making the announcement, Meg Stevens, EVP of Programming for iHeartMedia’s Northeast Division said, “Chris has had exceptional success in Raleigh and we’re thrilled he’s taking on a larger role for our brands in the area. His leadership skills and dynamic personality make him right for the job.” Bill McMartin, Area President for iHeartMedia’s Virginia-Carolina Region commented, “iHeartMedia Greensboro is fortunate to have a fantastic group of radio stations and a great programming and on-air team. I’m very excited to have Chris as our Area Senior Vice President of Programming. His experience will only help our team continue to grow and our stations get stronger.”
In 2012, Edge returned to iHeartMedia Raleigh as the Senior Vice President of Programming, where he also serves as an on-air host for 95X, Raleigh’s New Rock Alternative. He previously programmed WDCG (G105)/Raleigh from 1999 to 2003. Edge’s background also includes programming stops in Hartford, Indianapolis and Austin. In 2016, iHeartMedia named him Senior Vice President of Programming of the Year for the Northeast Division.
