EJ Joyfully Reunited With NJ

• A familiar voice is returning to Townsquare’s WKXW (New Jersey 101.5)/Trenton, NJ, as prodigal son Eric “EJ” Johnson has been hired as co-host of a brand new midday show, plugged in alongside longtime host Judi Franco to create… wait for it… The Judi & EJ Show, which launches Monday, Aug. 4 and rolls weekdays from 10am-2pm ET. Johnson’s return follows the retirement of Dennis Malloy, who wrapped up an extraordinary 32-year run at the station on July 31.

This marks a real radio homecoming for Johnson, who previously served as Program Director of New Jersey 101.5 for nearly two decades (1999 to 2017). Since then, he’s held leadership and on-air roles at major market stations, including Beasley Classic Rock 102.9 WMGK and Sports-Talk WPEN (97.5 The Fanatic)/Philadelphia. Earlier programming stops include the late WJBR/Wilmington, DE and WPLY (Y100)/Philly.

“Coming back to New Jersey 101.5 feels like coming home,” said Johnson. “This station has always had a one-of-a-kind connection to the people of New Jersey. I’m honored to be part of it again — and even more excited to team up with Judi Franco, who’s as sharp, fearless, and funny as they come.”

Brian Lang, Townsquare RVP, added, “Eric is the perfect choice to join Judi on middays. He’s got a longstanding relationship with her, understands the power of the New Jersey 101.5 brand, and brings instant chemistry to the mic. We couldn’t be more excited — I can’t wait to hear The Judi & EJ Show in action.”
