Ellis Aboard, HaZe Extended @ KNOU
• Entercom makes two major contractual moves at Top 40 KNOU (NOW 96.3)/St. Louis — 1) Hiring Scott Ellis as PD/midday personality, and 2) Extending the current deal of afternoon talent Dustin “HaZe” Monroe.
Ellis (left) makes the substantial market leap upward from Springfield, MO, where he currently programs Scripps Top 40 KSPW (Power 96.5). Before arriving in Springfield in 2007, Ellis held programming department roles at KKLR and KJEZ/Poplar Bluff, MO. Ellis remarked, “I’m thrilled to join the NOW 96.3 team and dive into the St. Louis community. Working in this market has always been a dream for me and I can’t wait to get started.”
HaZe (right) has been in the building since July 2015, seguing from middays at CBS Radio Top 40 WDZH (98.7 AMP Radio)/Detroit. Earlier stops include WXSS (103.7 Kiss FM)/Milwaukee, KYKY (Y98) and KSLZ (Z107.7)/St. Louis. HaZe said, “Words can’t express how excited I am to have the opportunity to continue my radio journey with NOW 96.3 in St. Louis, a city I love and call home.”
Moments after all the paperwork was signed and filed, Becky Domyan, SVP/Market Manager, Entercom St. Louis commented, “Scott’s level of talent, strong leadership and passion for the format will help take NOW 96.3 to high levels of success.” Speaking of HaZe, she added, “HaZe has a solid work ethic and high energy that will allow him to continue to make a significant impact with St. Louis listeners.”
