Entercom Austin Adds Power Trio
Entercom Austin announces several major personnel enhancements — let’s start with Matt Wheeler, who is named Creative Services Director for the cluster and APD of AC KKMJ (Majic 95.5) and Hot AC KAMX (Mix 94.7). Also joining Mix 94.7 as MD/afternoon personality is Sean MacKenna, a.k.a. Sean Mack.
Wheeler (left) most recently programmed Magic Broadcasting Top 40 WILN (Island 106)/Panama City, FL, but he most notably spent 13 years with Entercom Sacramento as APD/Creative Imaging Director for Entercom Top 40 KDND (107.9 The End) and Hot AC KUDL (Star 106.5). Mack (center) is also inbound from Florida, as he segues from the PD post at Community Broadcasters Top 40 WECQ (Q92)/Destin-Ft. Walton Beach, FL. He succeeds Jay Styles, who last fall was hired by Hubbard AC WSHE (SHE 100.3)/Chicago as the local Producer for the Premiere-syndicated Brooke and Jubal morning show. “I’m thrilled to welcome both Matt Wheeler and Sean Mack to team Entercom Austin,” said Nikki Nite, VP of Programming & Operations, Entercom Austin. “They both bring skills and experience that will really round out our programming team. I’m looking forward to all the greatness we’ll accomplish together.”
Wheeler commented, “I’m ecstatic to have the chance to once again team up with Nikki and Dayne Damme, Entercom Austin Marketing Director in such a uniquely American city as Austin. The opportunity to join the already amazing team they have in place, and see just how far we can take these incredible stations, is unbelievably exciting.” Mack said, “I couldn’t be more excited to make Austin my new home. Mix 94.7 is a great station and I’m looking forward to joining an already great team of people at Entercom Austin. I can’t wait to explore the city, hit the airwaves in the afternoons and meet everyone. Yes, I will do my best to Keep Austin Weird as well!”
And there’s more! Entercom vet Orphan Andrew (right), who had been temporarily covering afternoon drive at Mix 94.7, has been permanently awarded the Mix 94.7 night shift, which he will perform by remote from his home base at sister KDND (107.9 The End)/Sacramento.
