Extreme Makeover: KSFM Edition
• In late April we reported Entercom Rhythmic KSFM/Sacramento had conducted a fairly thorough housecleaning, parting company with the entire fulltime airstaff. Today, the company took a large step in the rebuilding of the station with the hire of new PD/afternoon drive talent Michael “Big Mic” Buhrman (left), major market pro Mia Amor (second from left) in mornings and market vet SOOSH*E (second from right) for evenings.
Buhrman, who starts June 4, is inbound from Denver, where he’s the longtime APD/MD of Rhythmic sister KQKS (KS107.5). “We are excited to welcome Michael’s skill set, dedication and passion to 102.5 KSFM. His knowledge of the format and reputation in the industry will be an asset to the team,” said Stacey Kauffman, Director of Sales and Interim Market Manager for Entercom Sacramento. “The additions of Mia and SOOSH*E to the KSFM staff solidifies a great line up of talented on-air personalities who understand the importance of being topical, relatable and entertaining to an already passionate listener base.” Burhman remarked, “I’m humbled and excited to join KSFM and the Entercom Sacramento family. KSFM is such a powerful set of call letters with an esteemed history of success and I appreciate the faith the team has in me to take over the reins.”
Mia Amor most recently did mornings on Entercom Throwback KRBQ (Q102.1)/San Francisco. She began her radio career at KYLD (Wild 94.9)/San Francisco and later worked at KDON/Salinas and also co-hosted mornings at KVEG (Hot 97.5)/Las Vegas. Market vet SOOSH*E used to work across the street at Entravision rival KHHM (Hot 103.5).
RAMP has also confirmed that the KSFM midday show will be tracked from Chicago by market vet Nina Hajian (right), co-host of the DreX & Nina morning show on Top 40 sister WBBM-FM (B96).
